As my occupation
As my occupation is that of a proofreader, one of the first things I look for in a website is quality copy; to me it’s important that the textual content is clear and concise with correct spelling and proper punctuation. Many websites I have looked at have sadly failed to follow this basic rule and the build emphasis has been centred on flashy eye-catching graphics, quite often at the expense of the copy.
Good use of graphics is obviously an asset to any website but there should also be an element of simplicity as well; a site should not be so laden with amazing images and effects that it detracts from its purpose. Too often, there are websites with so many things happening on them that the eye gets confused and doesn’t know where to look.

Making last minute travel plans may not be as exciting as the trip you are about to take. Confusion, frustration and even leaving behind very important documents can result in such a situation.

Ours is a unique society
Americans need to get used to the idea that, no matter what The United States Of America does, the rest of the world will never like us.
Ours is a unique society. We are made up of people from almost every other nationality in the world. We were originaly formed by immigrants seeking religious and other freedoms. Our ethics and moral codes were formed mainly from Judeo-Christian ideals, ie: The Old And New Testaments, The Ten Commandments and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our form of government is mainly secular but our way of living, our body of law and our way of thinking is, for the most part, Judeo-Christian.
Ours is not an insular society. All Americans, with the possible exception of Native American Indians, are decended from immigrants. These immigrants have come from all over the world. These immigrants brought, with them, differing ideas, customs and ways of doing things. Many of these ideas, customs and ways of doing things have been melded into our way of life. The foregoing has made us completely different than any other country in the world and people, due to the nature of humans, don't always like other people who are different.

There are large companies such as Sony Pictures, Toyota, and McDonalds that have participated in the newest changes used in Myspace music. The social networking website had built partnerships with numerous recording labels that include Warner Music, Sony BMG and Universal Music. This will allow them to present ads on their music website, depending upon what the person is looking for. These ads will allow users to be able to download their favorite music or players at a price they can afford or for free.
Jeff Berman, the head of Myspace Sales and Marketing has stated that this will be one of their greatest endeavors since the launch of Myspace. It is his hope that it will change the way that users look for, use and experience music.

Going Batty In Austin
If you live in Austin and have not visited the Congress Street Bridge, affectionately known as the bat bridge, you need to go. If you are visiting and the bats haven’t left for the winter, this is a must see for you too.
The Congress Street Bridge in downtown that crosses Lady Bird Lake is home to the world’s largest urban mammal colony. Arriving in the spring and leaving in the fall, an enormous colony of Mexican free-tailed bats live in the underside of the bridge. Around 750,000 bats arrive at the Bat Bridge, with most being females. These female bats give birth to pups during the summer and that just about doubles the bat population under the bridge.
I took my girls to the Bat Bridge a few years ago and we stood on the sidewalk atop the bridge. Around sunset we started hearing noises coming from under the bridge. The noise turned out to be the flapping of the wing-like structures that the bats use to fly. The bats exiting the bridge seemed to take forever. We could see them come out below us, but then lost them as they blended in to the darkness of the water.
The best viewing is by the Austin American Statesman building. The newspaper actually created an observation area for the public to use which is right beside the bridge. Another good place to view the bats is along the hike and bike trail on the north side of the lake.
At first, one might think that having 1.5 million bats in downtown Austin is a bit strange. Some people might even find it creepy. However, these little animals are actually doing us a public service by living where they do as they eat a tremendous amount of flying insects every night. I have seen estimates ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 pounds of insects that the bats consume every night.
In case you are wondering, there are other significant bat colonies around the Austin area. Under the overpass where McNeil Road crossed IH 35 in Round Rock is another colony. There is also one in Mansfield Dam. If you are someone impressed by numbers, you will love this next one. Bracken Cave, outside of San Antonio, is home to the largest bat colony in the world with an estimated 20 to 40 million bats.

One Laptop Per Child
If during this Foundation XO laptop, One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) is available in the new version of Linux, XO will now be present in the Windows operating system.
Peru had the opportunity to become the first country to try XO laptop Windows XP is based.
